SKQv2Open Submission Serial Killers Quattuor Payment: One (1) contributor copy

Writers may submit early, but the reading period begins 02/21/2014

You, me, the general public, have a fascination for true crime accounts of people like Bundy, and fictional depictions of similar characters in television shows such as Criminal Minds and Dexter. We have a macabre interest in real life serial killers and can’t comprehend the pure lack of remorse of these monsters. But yet we can’t get enough. So we watch these shows and buy these books and read about these abhorrent yet fascinating criminals. Serial Killers Quattuor is one such work that fulfils our insatiable obsession with serial killers in this terrifying, and bloodcurdling short story collection.

Give me your most unique serial killers. Who was the first serial killer? How did he murder—with a stone, a stone knife? Who was the last serial killer to ever live? How did she murder? Why was she the last serial killer? Period pieces are lovely, too; a serial killer with a six-shooter and a horse named Arthur?

What I will find most interesting is: why? Born or bred, or neither? And impact—on the serial killer and his or her victims.

MEMENTO MORI

Remember That You Will Die

Death is inevitable.  I am looking for art, poetry, flash fiction and short fiction that addresses the fact that death is inevitable. The manner of death and the why is important, as is the consequences, before and during the process of deaths. And what happens after death? Nothing?  Everything? Or is it somewhere in between?  Show me why it is important that we must remember that we will die.

  1. reading your column I remembered the first serial killer I heard about. As a young child in Germany in the sixties there was this monster, a young man, killing children. Long forgotten fears but inspiring to do some research
